Contact The Artist About This Artwork

Throughout history, artists have found new and groundbreaking ways of creating cutting edge art. The students of the AHS Network Program have done just this. While looking to Elizabeth Keithline as their modern master inspiration and guidance of their Artist in Residence, Abby Rovaldi, the students of the Network Program have produced a dynamic series of metal sculpture. They began by weaving wire around three wooden objects, which were then burned (with the assistance of the Attleboro Fire Department, B shift), leaving only the wire form behind. The burning process is representing nature’s ultimate way of recycling – or renewing itself. These students have reinvented wooden objects into original and contemporary art structures. "Ghost Chairs" was on exhibit at the Attleboro Arts Museum during their 2009 High Art Exhibition: Installation Art / Innovative Recycled Objects.
