Strange Bloom V (Fiddlehead) was created specifically for the Cassie’s Cause Art Fundraiser held on Friday, May 20th from 7-9pm in the Churchwood Gallery at The Preservation Framer. In this piece my mark making took on a very specific shape – the letter C – in honor of my former art student and incredible artist Cassie Chee. Cassie’s initials “C.C.” are repeated over and over within this looped fiddlehead fern – an immortalization of a special young lady that will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
